Ulster County Women of Note Exhibit

UCHS has been awarded the New York Council for the Humanities Action Grant for their collaborative project titled “Ulster County Women of Note”. UCHS is working in conjunction with Ellenville Public Library & Museum and the Ulster County Clerk’s Office on this very special project. The project begins with an exhibit this October of 12 panels featuring individual women of Ulster County from all walks of life that have made contributions to women’s opportunities in UC. The panels will travel around the county for the year as a full exhibit. The opening venue will be at the Matthewis Persen House & Cultural Center, 74 John Street, located in the Kingston Historic District.

A second portion of the project will be a re-enactment of a Suffrage march and rally to take place in Kingston October of 2017. Updates will be made on our website as they develop.
